2-week pilot · Free · Limited places

A daily "all normal" about your parent — from the phone already in their pocket.

We're building Miab after a fall in our own family went undiscovered for three days. Before we build the full product, we're running a small two-week pilot with a handful of families — and we'd like yours to be one of them.

How the pilot works

1
Your parent installs one small app on their iPhone (we send a simple install link and walk you both through it — about five minutes). After that, there is nothing for them to do. No buttons, no check-ins, no wearables.
2
The phone quietly shares simple activity signals — steps, movement, battery, screen use. Each morning a real person (the founder) reviews the pattern.
3
You get one short message a day — "all normal" or "something looks different today" — by WhatsApp, text, or email, whichever you already use. For two weeks, free.

Who we're looking for

Privacy, in plain English

What the app shares

  • 👣 Step counts
  • 🚶 Whether the phone is still or moving
  • 🔋 Battery level
  • 💡 Whether the screen has been used

What it never shares

  • 🚫 No location — where they go stays on their phone
  • 🚫 No microphone, no camera
  • 🚫 No messages, calls, or contacts
  • 🚫 No selling or sharing data with anyone

Your parent says yes personally before anything is collected — this only works with their blessing, and we've designed it to be easy to give. Data is stored in the EU (Amsterdam), tied to an anonymous device code rather than a name, and deleted on request at any time. When the pilot ends, so does the collection.

The honest bit

This is a pilot, not a finished product. We're testing one thing: whether an iPhone in a pocket or handbag sends a signal steady enough to genuinely reassure you. You'll be helping us find out — and your feedback will shape what Miab becomes.

At the end of the two weeks we'll ask whether the daily message was worth paying a few pounds a month for. There's no obligation, no card details, and no charge during the pilot — we just need honest answers.
